CASTELLÓ MASTERS Costa Azahar

The Region of Valencia has been hosted another of the great international sporting events of the year, the first edition of the Castelló Masters Costa Azahar where 20,000 assistants have seen the victory of Sergio García in his home.

As well as bringing together the international golfing elite between October 23rd and 26th at the Mediterráneo Country Club in Borriol, this tournament represents an even greater achievement for the future of the Region, as images of Castellón have reached over 690 million viewers following the event through the TV coverage broadcast all around the world.

Through 759 hours of TV coverage beamed to 33 countries by the main international stations, Castellón has been promoted as a venue for top-level international competitions, and its golfing appeal has been publicised in other countries, an impact that will become even more effective thanks to the `unseasonal´ nature of golf tourism.

All told, the Regional Government of Valencia estimates a total income of €18 million thanks to the tournament, parallel activities and the shopping area in the Village.
